Iran "Engineer's Day" marks Persian 13th-century scholar

Fifth day of Persian calendar month of Esfand is marked as “Engineer's Day” to commemorate 13th-century Iranian scholar Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi.

“Engineer's Day” in Iran is celebrated on the fifth day of the Persian calendar month of Esfand as a tribute to Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi, one of the most noted Persian scholars in the 13th century.

Tusi’s writings are as many as at least 150 titles on astronomy, ethics, history, jurisprudence, logic, mathematics, medicine, philosophy, theology, poetry and the popular sciences.

Persian polymath and scientist Tusi is one of Iran’s greatest ancient scientists in mathematics and what is known as engineering in our contemporary understanding of it.

Countless Iranian engineers with expertise in different fields of engineering are busy with helping the country develop its infrastructure and building industry.
